Dr Pierangelo Torquato
Pierangelo Torquato is currently enrolled in the national order of Italian biologists (section A). From 2015 to 2018 he obtained the International Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences, curriculum: Nutraceuticals (MED/ 49) with a project focused on the nutraceutical role of natural sources of vitamin E (wheat germ and Garcinia kola seeds) and the characterization of the human metabolome of the vitamin E. He collaborated for three years with the Center of Development and Validation of Analytical Methods of the " Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale Umbria e Marche.
In 2016 he was awarded the "YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD" during the annual meeting of the "Free Radical Biology and Medicine Society" of Budapest, for the discovery of the role of vitamin E metabolites as modulators of hepatic metabolism. In 2014 he graduated in Food Science and Human Nutrition (LM-61). In 2012 he graduated in Biological Sciences (L-13).
During his career he has worked in many laboratories of prestigious university centers in Germany and in Spain. He is responsible of Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Analytical Method at Lipinutragen s.r.l. Author of 14 publications and 6 chapters of books published in prestigious international journals with 100 citations.
