Dr Malgorzata Bukowiecka-Matusiak
Malgorzata Bukowiecka-Matusiak, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Structural Biology, Medical University of Lodz. The master thesis she graduated at the Faculty of Chemistry at University of Lodz and the PhD thesis connected with the synthesis of new P-chiral stereoselective oligonucleotides with potential therapeutic properties, in Polish Academy of Science. From 2008, she is connected with Medical University of Lodz, where she develops the study related to antioxidative properties of extracts obtained from postproduction seeds of Oenothera paradoxa. From the other hand, she is also involved in research related to metabolomics, especially lipidomics in collaboration with ISOF, CNR, Bologna. She visited ISOF first time in 2001 to carried out the research connected with synthesis of 5’,8-cyclo-2’-deoxyadenosine by ᵞ irradiation (6 weeks). From October-December 2014 and May-June 2015 she realized the project related to lipidomic profile of membrane erythrocytes isolated from the blood of GDM women. According these studies a publication appeared (Bukowiecka-Matusiak M, Burzynska-Pedziwiatr I, Sansone A, Malachowska B, Zurawska-Klis M, Ferreri C, Chatgilialoglu C, Ochedalski T, Cypryk K, Wozniak LA. Lipid profile changes in erythrocyte membranes of women with diagnosed GDM. PLoS One. 2018 Sep 14;13(9):e0203799. doi: 10.1371/journal.pone.0203799). In 2019 her visit was connected with the study related to schizophrenia patients. From 2017 she is a head of Metabolomics Research Laboratory. The Laboratory is involved in the projects regarding the search for new biomarkers of different diseases e.g gestational diabetes mellitus, schizophrenia, or brain tumors by using techniques using chromatography methods as HPLC or GC connected with MS.
